Lianyungang Orphanage

We visited Lian's orphanage (Lianyungang SWI) in Jiangsu province on March 20, 2012. It was about a 4 hour drive to the orphanage and back to Nanjing where we were staying (so 8 hours total by car). The orphanage appeared very well kept and the caretakers were very kind and are doing the best they can to care for all the children there. There were some issues that I already mentioned in a previous post while we were in China, Click Here to read. He only had one caretaker that he would smile/laugh for and it is obvious that she helped him become the happy, smiling, carefree boy that he is today with us. We are grateful for her and all the caretakers. Lian's orphanage is part of the Half the Sky Foundation, to learn more Click Here.

Lian's Empty Crib!

This baby really captured my heart, he/she kept smiling at us and was so happy. I hope he/she already had a family waiting to take him/her home!

Another family visited the same time as we did. Sandra adopted her daughter Kylie and this is them in the pictures with her sister-in-law and daughter Jenna.

These 2 kiddos already have families waiting for them! They were taking videos/pictures of their babies to send to their respective families back home :)

Lian wasn't too excited to be back at the orphanage :(
