It's been awhile since my last post and just been so busy! Lian had his 18 month checkups the end of September. The speech pathologist on the cleft team was concerned about his progression so she wrote up a prescription for speech therapy once a week. I contacted our Early Intervention coordinator so they will be coming out here in a week to do a reassessment, then we'll see what they say, depending on what he's qualified for through EI and what the speech pathologist wants on the cleft team, we can either go through EI or a private speech therapist. So....we'll see what all happens. Lian is still babbling alot and will now try to say something, it usually comes out as "Ga" or "Ba". He understands everything we say to him so I know it's just a matter of time for it to all "click" for him. His pediatrician didn't seem too worried as "boys tend to talk later than girls and it's not unusual to have boys talk after 2 years of age" so not to worry too much :) He also got his flu shot and will need a booster after 4 weeks. Lian and I got a cold a couple days after he got the flu shot and we are just getting over it now. He also has his circumcision lined up so we hope this won't be too traumatizing. This past week was his last "Little Learners" class and his next class will start in a couple of weeks. It is "Tot Rock" and I think he'll love it as he loves music and dancing :) A couple of new things he's doing:
1) He has his toy drum and knows the word drum and to bang on it.
2) Loves to put his play bucket on his head and pretend it's a "funny hat".
3) Now realizes the pawprint on Blues Clues and will scream when he sees the pawprint on TV.
4) Likes to spin himself around in a circle.
5) When I'm counting something he will point and move his hand up and down like me.
6) Understands how to bend his knees, twirl (spin around), shake hands (and we say Hello Lian, it's nice to meet you), sit, stand up, stay there, put it back, leave it, no more, he is still trying to desperately jump, lol......and is running now, always on the move!
7) He is really getting to be "all boy" now. If he doesn't want to go somewhere he will just sit or lay on the ground, lol. He throws his toys, babbles, and screams when he's really excited. And is climbing up on top of things everywhere.

Just trying to finish up this post today and our little Lian got another cold coming on :( His nose was running again yesterday and now he has a cough.....our poor little guy....hate to see him not feeling well :(
